About KSU SGA E-mail

Presidents Statement:

As president of Kennesaw State University's Student Government Association I will work this year to aggrandize the value of your college degree, while ameliorating the apathetic culture that exists within our student body-       Ali Kamran

What is SGA?

To put it simply, SGA is your voice to administration, faculty and staff, and is your best avenue to voice concerns and resolve issues.

What is the purpose?

The purpose of the SGA is to promote understanding and involvement among all members of the campus community, and to represent and legislate the interests of the student body of KSU on campus wide, local, state, and federal level in accordance with KSU statutes, student codes of conduct, and policies of the board of regents.

How we've served you this past year:

  • Caused a reduction of the mandatory meal plan pricing for most students
  • Stopped an increase in the amount of parking fines (an attempted DOUBLING prevented!)
  • Split the parking fee to allow students who prefer not to drive to campus to only pay $60/semester (instead of $110)
  • Facilitated the University's acquiring 88 acres of new land for an expansion of our intramurals and club sports
  • Installed the "Owls Remembered" sculpture on campus in remembrance of fallen KSU brothers and sisters

We also represent students in campus committees such as:

  • The Student Activity and Budget Advisory Committee (SABAC); SABAC determines how much money registered student organizations receive
  • The Student Fee Committee; Determines how much YOU pay in mandatory student fees
  • The Parking Committee
  • The Food Advisory Committee; Governs dining pricing, availability, and policies
  • The University Council
  • The Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, and Administrators Senate
  • And many, many, more...
